Duplication
DVD duplication is best suited for short-run projects of up to 500 units or for those that require fast turnaround. DVD duplication refers to burning content on a pre-manufactured blank DVD-R. We apply your artwork using a thermal, silkscreen or other high quality, on-disc printing process. We perform a number of pre-production quality tests on your master and our DVD duplicating equipment performs additional checks during production. We can produce your duplication projects in as little as 1 business day.
Replication
DVD replication, also known as "pressing", is the process of creating a DVD directly from plastic and other raw materials. From your master disc we create a "glass master" which in turn is used to form an injection mold (stamper) through which DVDs with embedded content are produced. After the DVDs are produced, we use either silkscreen or offset printing to apply your artwork directly to the disc. Quality testing before, during and after production is standard for each replication project. DVD replication is more economical for long-run projects due to the set-up costs involved. It also requires longer lead time. We have a minimum replication quantity of 300 units.
From a quality perspective, there is no difference between the data stored on a duplicated or replicated DVD. Some DVD-Rs may not play on older players; however, compatibility rates are generally around 98%. Our objective is to enable you to design, create and order high-quality, custom DVDs, inserts and packaging in the timing that best meets your needs.
